An Evening with the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing

Almost fifty students of the Weston School of Dance & Performing Arts took part in An Evening with the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday 20th April 2014 at Riverside Leisure Centre in Chelmsford. Presented by Mike Newman, this fast-moving and spectacular show featured Pasha Kovalev and Katya Virshilas from the television series who, along with four other professional dancers, thrilled the capacity audience with their style, energy and expertise in a dazzling production lasting over two hours. The Weston School students, aged between eight and sixteen years, performed two six-minute routines, specially choreographed for the occasion by the School’s Deputy Principal, Ruth Bowen-Davies, and Marie Francis, a professional dancer who teaches Commercial Dance and Musical Theatre at the School. The show continued to tour the UK with Essex dates in Harlow, Grays and Clacton.
