Ruth trained with The Weston from the age of 5 and was an assistant teacher for three years. She danced in the professional pantomime at the Chelmsford Civic Theatre for many years, and with the Chelmsford Ballet Company for whom she has taught on their 'Let's Make A Ballet' day on numerous occasions. Ruth holds major examinations in Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance, Tap and National Dancing and, in 1999, she gained her Associate teaching qualification in both Cecchetti Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance. In September of that year she commenced a 3-year Dance Degree course at Middlesex University achieving a BA (Hons) degree in Dance, and the Associate teaching qualification in National Dance.

Ruth is a talented and innovative teacher, and has been the choreographer of choice for the Opening and Finale numbers of the Weston's biennial show for the last three productions. She continues to train hard and has been awarded the Licentiate status (LISTD) in Cecchetti Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap. Ruth is not shy of developing her professional skills as a Dance Teacher, regularly attending ISTD courses, enabling her to inspire her students to be the best that they can be.
