Almost fifty students of the Weston School of Dance & Performing Arts took part in An Evening with the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing.
At the heart of Chelmsford dance training for 75 Years
Founded by Joan Weston in 1939 but still young-at-heart.
28 of our students and friends joined thousands of others across the UK in an attempt on a new world record whilst also raising money for BBC Children In Need
The School aims to cater for everyone. Children are accepted from the age of three years, and we provide classes for all ages, including adults. Children can train in ballet, modern theatre dance, tap and (when they are a little older) jazz, musical theatre and street dance.
The School holds classes in many venues in Chelmsford, as well as Great Dunmow, throughout the week. Full details are available including maps showing the location of the venues.
We strongly advise that uniform is not purchased until it is confirmed that the student has settled.
Children entering the School in the Under 5's Class only need to wear something easy to move in.
Temporary Class Changes
At various times during a term it may be necessary to make temporary changes to classes, whether due to availability of halls, staff or problems as a result of weather.
Children In Need
The School supports Children in Need every year.
In addition to regular classes, students are given a number of other opportunities to dance, should they wish to do more. Nothing is compulsory although we do hope that children, with suitable encouragement from their teachers and parents, might like to fully explore all avenues.
We are very proud of the success achieved each year by both students and teachers. Not only do many students achieve excellent results in the many exam sessions but many achieve success elsewhere.
The Cecchetti Society organises a number of residential Summer Schools each year which are a wonderful experience and great fun!
